Thee Oh Sees - Help

Some things feels so fresh and new, yet they borrow heavily from the
old. The Oh Sees new album Help is one of these things, and it's
awesome.

Help is the newest record from the Bay Area's group formerly known as
OCS (now Thee Oh Sees), originally a side project of John Dwyer (The Hospitals, Landed,
Pink and Brown, Coachwhips) which has turned into something a little
more substantial.

This album fits into the presently popular 'lo-fi' noise rock thing
but there's something more than that here and this is more far-
reaching than a typical lo-fi record. It's also worth mentioning these
guys aren't just hopping on the lo-fi bandwagon, they've been making
this music for a while and it shows. What's also really cool is the
more imaginative things not to be found on say a wavves album, wavves
is sick dont get me wrong but I've yet to hear any flute on a wavves
recording.

Explosive guitars, unique vocals, great drums, this shit is cool. Get
right the fuck into this album then work backwards into some older
stuff.
